Trepobates trepidus View in CoL is another widespread species, although less than T. taylori View in CoL , occurring from the southern United States to Ecuador ( Drake & Harris 1928a, b, 1933; Beck 1936; Drake & Harris 1938; Drake & Hottes 1951a, 1952; Drake & Chapman 1953; Drake & Roze 1954; Matsuda 1962; Alvarez & Roldán 1983; Aristizábal 2002; Polhemus & Polhemus 2002; Padilla-Gil & Nieser 2003; Camacho & Molano 2005; Molano et al. 2005, 2008; Molano & Camacho 2006; Rivera & Camacho 2006; Valencia 2006; Rivera et al. 2008; Morales & Molano 2008; Posso & González 2008; Galindo et al. 2009; Morales & Castro 2010; Buzzetti & Cianferoni 2011; Padilla- Gil 2012; Mondragón & Morales 2013; Herrera 2014). It was previously reported from Costa Rica (Puntarenas and San José provinces) and is herein recorded for the first time from Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste, and Limón provinces. The habitats occupied are the same as those of T. taylori View in CoL , in both slopes of Costa Rica up to 700 m a.s.l.
