This species is known only from Costa Rica where it was collected at sea level in estuaries along the Pacific Coast of Puntarenas Province ( Polhemus & Cheng 1976, Padilla-Gil & Pacheco-Chaves 2012).

Material examined. Puntarenas— Punta Morales, Manglares Project, 0 m a.s.l., 20.XXII.1998, (F. Mejía): 1 male, 3 females, 6 nymphs (MZUCR). Troya Estuary, Blanca Beach, Puerto Jiménez, Osa, 0 m a.s.l., I.2009, (A. Castillo): 11 males, 4 females, 3 nymphs (MZUCR).
