Previously recorded from Puerto Rico, Costa Rica (without specified location), and Panama ( Drake & Harris 1937, Polhemus & Polhemus 2002). The occurrence of the species in Costa Rica is herein confirmed based on specimens collected in Puntarenas and San José provinces. It was found in moderate water current at elevations up to 850 m a.s.l.

Pacuar River, Diquís Hydropower Project, Grande de Térraba watershed , 23.VIII.2006: 2 males ( MZUCR) . Platanares River, Diquís Hydropower Project, Grande de Térraba watershed , 13.IX.2006: 2 males, 1 female, 3 nymphs ( MZUCR) .
