Ischnura ramburii (Selys, 1850)

Not uncommon around ponds and quiet pools along ghuts on St. Thomas: Mahogany Run ghut and ponds, Turpentine Run ghut, and Donoe Road ghut. There is one early record from St. John ( Whitehouse 1939). Adults are blue to green, but immature females are red with the abdomen black above and blue ventrally. It is broadly distributed in Puerto Rico ( Ramírez et al. 2020) and listed in the grey literature by Platenberg (2006) for either St. Thomas or St. John without specific location. This is, therefore, the first confirmed record from St. Thomas.
