Examined type material. None.

Remarks. The drawing of the dorsal view by Ferrer (2006) is quite similar to the drawing of Cossyphodinus basilewskyi from Zambia by Ferrer (in Ferrer & Collingwood 1993), probably both are conspecific.

Type locality. "Nampula".

Distribution. Northern Mozambique.
