Diagnosis. Head with one big black spot near base of antenna in males and one black transverse stripe in females. Broad anterior section of prothorax dark brown and posterior tubular section yellow. The number of RA cells in the forewing varies from 5 to 7. Mediuncus long and thin, with slightly branched apex.

Description. Male. Body length 13.5–17.0 mm, forewing length 14.0–18.0 mm, forewing width 3.8–4.8 mm.

Head. Generally yellow except one big black spot near base of antenna and one brown stripe at posterior margin of vertex ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 19 b). Flagellomeres 28–32. Labrum and palpus yellow. Mandible yellow except outer and inner margin dark brown.

Thorax. Broad anterior section of prothorax dark brown, with one short yellow median stripe, posterior tubular section yellow and wrinkled with about 10 grooves ( Fig. 15 c). Prescutum dark brown. Mesonotum yellow to brown, with a pair of dark brown longitudinal stripes. Metanotum similar to mesonotum, but many specimens with faded brown stripes. Scutellum yellow. Pleural region of mesothorax yellow, except anterior margin of anepisternum black and posterior margin of katepisternum black; metathorax mostly yellow, except posterior margin of anepimeron and katepimeron black. Fore leg brown except coxa yellow with base black.

Mid and hind legs mostly yellow except base of coxa dark brown; tarsal claws brown, with 4 or 5 teeth. Wings elongated and narrow. Veins mostly brown, except Sc, R and A yellow in both wings, and base of R, M and Cu black in the forewing. Pterostigma reddish brown, elongated and narrow. Forewing with 5–7 RA cells and 8–10 Rs branches.

Abdomen. Ground color yellow with black stripes. Tergite I with one big dark brown spot; tergite II with one black transverse stripe at posterior margin and one black longitudinal stripe at median area; tergite III with one Y-shaped black median stripe; tergite IV to VII with posterior margin dark brown; tergite IX without stripe. Sternites with one black transverse stripe at posterior margin except sternites I, II and IX entirely yellow.

Male genitalia. Ectoproct slightly elongated, with more than 20 short thickened setae on the median sclerite. Gonarcus slightly curved. Pseudopenis long and thin, with a pair of small sclerites at the pseudopenial membrane ( Figs. 7, 8 View FIGURES 7 – 9 ). Mediuncus long and thin, with slightly branched apex.

Female. Similar to male except for the following characters: body length 17.0– 21.5 mm, forewing length 19.0–24.0 mm, forewing width 5.3–6.5 mm. Head yellow with one black stripe between base of antenna ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 19 c). Tergites mainly reddish brown except anterior margin yellow and posterior margin black.

Female genitalia. Spermatheca normally coiled, with distal section wider; base of fertilization canal duct narrow ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 7 – 9 ).

Remarks. The species is simialr to E. paraharmandi sp. nov. in the following characters: broad anterior section of prothorax dark brown and posterior tubular section yellow. Compared with the new species, it has more RA cells in the forewing and different pattern of fore leg as well as mediuncus.
