Notes

BMNH, det. Hinz & Horstmann, added here; material in BMNH has been determined by K. Horstmann as this species and curvispina; D.R. Kasparyan has determined Scottish material (Cairngorms) in NMS as facialis. Aubert (2000) treats facialis as a syonym of alpinus Zett. but it is recognised as a valid species by Hinz (1996).
