Atyphloceras tancitari Traub & Jonson 1952 View in CoL .

This species was first described from: Tancítaro, Michoacán (type locality). Pérez (1976) mentioned this species are endemic to the Transmexican Volcanic Belt, the collect frequencies of the species were low, but in 1968 and 1974 it was collected in other states, namely Estado de México, Distrito Federal, and Morelos. Ayala­Barajas et al. (1988) mentioned its presence in Estado de México: Toluca, Ojo de Agua; 20.8 km SSW Toluca; Lagunas de Cempoala; Ojotongo Lagoon; Ixtaccihuatl; Popocátepetl; Popocátepetl, Paraje Providencia; Popocátepetl, 5 km E San Pedro Nexapa; San Pedro Nexapa; Morelos: Atsompa; Huitzilac and Derrame Chichinautzin. Ponce (1988) mentioned Guerrero, Mpio: Atoyac de Álvarez: Cerro Teotepec, Toro Muerto and Puerto del Gallo. The present work has a new host locality record in Queretaro: Carr. Xilitla­Jalpan, 6.56 km El Lobo: 4/7/1982, ex Peromyscus levipes levipes (076bJCM).
