Notes.

Banisteriopsis comprises 65 currently accepted species (24 threatened species; Suppl. material 1) of treelets, shrubs, subshrubs or lianas, endemic to rainforests, savannas, and seasonally dry tropical forests from Mexico (North America) to Argentina (South America; POWO 2024).
