Ochthebius (Ochthebius) auropallens Fairmaire, 1879

Kuwert (1890) mentioned that the distribution of Ochthebius auropallens Fairmaire, 1879 is throughout North Africa including Egypt. We have not been able to verify other literature records of this species from Egypt. The species was not included in the coleopteran lists of Storey (1916) and Alfieri (1976). In addition, the species was not included in the revision of Jäch (1992b) and also not included in the catalogues of Hansen (1998) and Jäch (2004). The species is known from Israel and many North African Countries such as Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia ( Jäch 1992b, 2004; Hansen 1998).
