Distribution: Extended parts of the Palaearctic, but infrequent in the northernmost parts and unrecorded for some parts of eastern Europe ( Lundblad 1968).

Distribution: Central and southern Europe, isolated outposts in southern Scandinavia ( Lundblad 1968).

Distribution: Balkan, only known from the type locality (spring near Trnice, W Mavrovo).

Habitat: Crenobiont.

Remarks: The definitive taxonomic state of L. longipalpis remains unanswered until the respective unknown sex of L. longipalpis (♁) and L. haliki (♀) comes to our knowledge. We cannot exclude that L. longipalpis is a junior synonym of L. haliki , and the differences between the two taxa result from sexual dimorphism ( Gerecke 2009).
