Type material. Holotype, female: Madagascar, Mt. d’Ambre , 9.XII.1952, Dr. K.E. Schedl [ NHMW].

Diagnosis. Length 2.2–2.5 mm, 2.5–2.6 × long as wide; colour dark brown. Female frons concave, with a broad, dense dorsal fringe of setae forming a crest from antennal insertion to vertex, finely setose in impressed area; antennal scapus with broad brush of soft setae about as long as in the frontal crest; most elytral interstriae with single but slightly irregular rows of narrowly spatulate setae, slightly confused on interstriae 1 and posterior part of interstriae 9.

Distribution. Madagascar. This species is found across the entire island, from low and dry to higher and more moist altitudes. All records are from lianas.
