Dryptus jubeus ( Fulton, 1908)
( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 A–B)
Strophocheilus (Dryptus) jubeus Fulton 1908: 86 , text fig. Type locality: Venezuela, Capas. Holotype BMNH 1905.5.3.1. Dryptus jubens [sic] (Fulton); Richardson 1995: 200 (references).
Material. Venezuela, Mérida, Capas [Capaz]: USNM 603094 (paratype); mountains La Paz [misspelling for Capaz?], 2000 m, A. Gabaldon leg.: USNM 109534; Torondoy mountains, 1600 m, Gabaldon leg.: USNM 109535. Altitudinal range. The localities reported here range from 1600–2000m.
Remarks. The type material of both D. jubeus and D. guerini show some differences, viz. D. jubeus has (1) a more pointed spire; (2) a broader, whitish parietal callus; and (3) a pinkish lip. We tentatively consider D. jubeus a valid taxon.
