Remarks. Breure (1978) was inconclusive about the taxonomic position of P. latilabris (Pfeiffer, 1855) . Having seen now ample material, we synonymize this taxon with P. succineoides (Petit de la Saussaye, 1840).
The record from Cauca remains puzzling, as it is based on one lot only and may have been mislabeled. Also a record from Peru (Dept. Cajamarca, SW Chachapoyas and Cajamarca, G.E. Mason leg., SMF 21612 (Breure 1977)) has not been confirmed by further material and has to be viewed with great caution. This taxon is rather variable in shape, but may be characterized by the interrupted subsutural brown band and the light-colored oblique, axial stripes on the dorsal side of the last whorl. It has been found on and among cacti ( Opuntia sp.).
