Type material. CHINA, Yunnan Province: Holotype male from Xishuangbanna Naban River Basin National Nature Reserve , 22.11°N, 100.58°E, 1340 m, 4 August 2020, R. Zhong, W. Zhang, Y. Zhang, Z. Deng & Z. Li leg. ( CBEE, LJ201900541 ) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 2 males, with same data as for holotype ( CBEE, LJ201900546 LJ201900547 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is a patronym in honour of the collector, Mr Zhongwei Deng; noun in genitive case.

Diagnosis. The male of P. dengi Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to that of P. songi Jäger, 2008 ( Jäger 2008a) by the E with broad base and with asymmetrical abrupt narrowing between the broad part and filiform part, the similarly arranged RTA, T and spermophor, but can be distinguished by: 1) E shorter, arising from 9:00 to 10:00 o’clock position; 2) RTA longer in retrolateral view (E longer, arising from 8:00 o’clock position and RTA shorter in P. songi ).

MALE (LJ201900541): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 9.1–9.6, DS length 4.6, width 4.0, OS length 4.9, width 3.5. Eyes: AME 0.12, ALE 0.24, PME 0.17, PLE 0.19,AME–AME 0.20,AME–ALE 0.14, PME– PME 0.24, PME–PLE 0.35, AME–PME 0.32, ALE–PLE 0.28, CH AME 0.37, CH ALE 0.29. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2101; Fe I–II 323, III 322, IV 331; Pa I–III 101, IV 001; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3024, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 5.5 (1.6, 0.7, 1.2, –, 2.0); I 16.7 (4.9, 1.9, 4.6, 4.1, 1.2); II 20.9 (5.6, 2.2, 6.4, 5.0, 1.7); III 14.0 (4.1, 1.7, 3.7, 3.4, 1.1); IV 17.5 (5.3, 1.4, 4.5, 4.8, 1.5). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 26 denticles.

Palp ( Figs 86A–C View FIGURE 86 ): As in diagnosis. C arising from T at 12:00 o’clock position, prolatero-distad. E with tip bent at a right angle, its base with triangular hump. Spermophor S-shaped. RTA arising proximally on Ti, distinctly U-shaped in retrolateral view. vRTA and dRTA almost equal length.

Colouration ( Figs 87A–B View FIGURE 87 ): DS light yellow with dark spots, dense cover of dark setae and two lateral bands. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. OS dorsally reddish-brown with lots of black dots, ventrally reddishbrown with several black marks and an inconspicuous band medially, more distinct in posterior half.
