Type material. CHINA, Yunnan Province: Holotype female from Honghe Hani Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Pingbian Miao Autonomous County, Daweishan Nature Reserve , 22.91°N, 103.70°E, 2073 m, 26 October 2015, Y. Zhong & Y. Zhu leg. ( CBEE, LJ2146 ) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 2 females, with same data as for holotype ( CBEE, LJ2147 LJ2148 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is dedicated to Ms Li Zhao for her kind help on our Sparassidae collection; name in genitive case.

Diagnosis. The female of P. zhaoae Zhang, Jäger & Liu , spec. nov. is similar to that of P. auricularis spec. nov. by: 1) Anterior margins of LL almost straight, almost parallel to posterior margins; 2) IDS extends into anterior part of epigyne in dorsal view. It can be recognised by median margins of LL almost straight (regularly curved in P. auricularis spec. nov.).

FEMALE (LJ2146): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 12.5, DS length 5.8, width 5.2, OS length 6.7, width 4.2. Eyes: AME 0.17, ALE 0.31, PME 0.22, PLE 0.27, AME–AME 0.17, AME–ALE 0.09, PME– PME 0.20, PME–PLE 0.33, AME–PME 0.28, ALE–PLE 0.23, CH AME 0.31, CH ALE 0.24. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2121, 1014; Fe I–III 323, IV 331; Pa I–IV 100; Ti I–II 2228, III–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 2026, IV 3036. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 7.4 (2.0, 1.0, 1.6, –, 2.8); I 19.4 (5.6, 2.3, 5.3, 4.8, 1.4); II 23.2 (6.2, 2.7, 6.7, 5.5, 2.1); III 15.3 (4.7, 1.7, 4.3, 3.4, 1.2); IV 18.4 (5.8, 1.0, 4.8, 5.1, 1.7). Leg formula: II-I-IV-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 27 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs 277A–C View FIGURE 277 ): As in diagnosis. EF almost twice as wide as long, AB indistinct, separated from EF. FW well developed, covering the entire IDS in ventral view. IDS with wide ducts in dorsal view medio-anteriorly. FD long, narrow.

Colouration ( Figs 278A–B View FIGURE 278 ): DS yellow with dark spots and short lines, margin with irregular black pattern. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. OS dorsally yellowishbrown with dark irregular pattern; ventrally with several dark marks, regularly arranged.

MALE: Unknown.
