Type material. VIETNAM, Ninh Binh Province: Holotype female from Cuc Phuong National Park, Fogging , 20.27°N, 105.70°E, 253 m, 20 July 2008, G. Zheng, P. D. Sac & S. Li leg. ( IOZ, LJ20210628009 ). GoogleMaps

Etymology. The specific name is dedicated to Mr Guo Zheng for his kind help on our Sparassidae collection; name in genitive case.

Diagnosis. The female of P.zhengi Zhang,Jäger &Liu , spec. nov. can be recognized by the following combination of characters: 1) Anterior margins of LL forming an invert broad V; 2) Lateral parts of the sclerotised part of IDS Jujube-shaped best seen in dorsal view.

FEMALE (LJ20210628009): Measurements: Medium sized. Body length 12.6, DS length 6.1, width 5.8, OS length 6.5, width 3.4. Eyes: AME 0.17, ALE 0.29, PME 0.21, PLE 0.24, AME–AME 0.17, AME–ALE 0.12, PME–PME 0.25, PME–PLE 0.38, AME–PME 0.32, ALE–PLE 0.29, CH AME 0.38, CH ALE 0.35. Spination: Pp 131, 101, 2101, 1014; Fe I–III 323, IV 322; Pa I–IV 101; Ti I–IV 2126; Mt I–II 2024, III 3025, IV 3037. Measurements of palps and legs: Pp 9.1 (2.5, 1.4, 2.0, –, 3.2); I 26.6 (8.0, 2.7, 7.4, 6.8, 1.7); II 31.6 (9.1, 3.3, 9.6, 8.3, 2.3); III 23.0 (7.3, 2.5, 6.0, 5.8, 1.4); IV 27.1 (8.9, 1.8, 6.3, 7.9, 12.2). Leg formula: II-IV-I-III. Cheliceral furrow with ca. 29 denticles.

Epigyne ( Figs 279A–C View FIGURE 279 ): As in diagnosis. EF wider than long, with indistinct AB, with strongly sclerotised field, diverging posteriorly, seen as incomplete triangle in dorsal view. LL touching each other along the middle lines. FW well developed.

Colouration ( Figs 280A–B View FIGURE 280 ): DS reddish brown with dark marks and lines. Fovea and striae distinctly marked. Sternum with light patches. OS dorsally dark brown, ventrally dark brown, margins with yellow hairs.

MALE: Unknown.
