Diagnosis – InthekeytotheEastPalaearctic A. orientalis-compar species group ( HEISS 2003) it runs to A. yunnanus Heiss, 2003, but abdomen is much narrower, andtheratioofantennaljointsisdifferent, uniqueinthisspecies group.

Description – Female, macropterous, brownwithcharacteristicyellowcoloration

(Figs 1–5). Headaboutaslongaswideacrosseyes. Antenniferoustuberclespointed, di-

rectedanteriad, withlargedorsaltooth. Eyesprotruding, semipedunculate. Postocular tubercleflat, withgranulation. Antennaelong, 2 timesaslongaswidthofhead; jointI surpassingclypeus; IIandIIIslightlythickenedapically, dorsalsideofthelatteryellowin itsapical 2/5; jointIVlongest. RelativelengthsofantennaljointsItoIVas 27: 33: 34: 40.

Pronotum 2.4 timeswiderthanlong, withdorsolaterallyextendedlateralmargins (paranota), theirmarginirregularlydentateespeciallyatanterolateralsection. Discwith 4 lowcarinae, lateralonesconverginganteriorly, mesaloneselevatinginanteriorthird. Anterolateralnotchofpronotumsimilartothatof A. yunnanus, anteriormarginyellow. Hemelytrawithpaleyellowpatchnearbasis, yellowishcolorationrunningalongcubitus, granulespartlypalebrownoryellowish.

Scutellumwithconcaveanterolateralborders, almost 1.5 timesaslongaswide. Lateralmarginelevatedexceptnearapex (Fig. 2).

Legsslender, withyellowringsattheapicalpartoffemoraandthebasalandapical partsoftibiae. Femorotibialarticulationspaleyellowish. Trochanterandfemurfusedon legsIandII, separatedbydistinctsutureonIII.

Abdomenwithlaterallyextendeddorsalexternallaterotergites (Deltg) onsegments II–VIII, marginofVII–VIIIacute- angled, eachwithaprotrudingtooth, marginsofposterolateralanglesyellow. Spiraclesventral, lateralonDeltgVIII, beforepointedtooth.

Measurements – Totallength (female) 7.69 mm, lengthofhead 1.34 mm, widthof head 1.29 mm, lengthofpronotum 1.16 mm, widthofpronotum 2.72 mm, lengthofscutel- lum 1.59 mm, widthofscutellum 1.09 mm, withofabdomenacrosssegmentV 3.41 mm.

Discussion – Theavailabilityofasinglefemaleusuallymakesauthors cautiousinpreparingadescription. ThecharacteristicantennaljointIVbe- ingthelongestis, however, uniquewithinthespeciesgroupandjustifiesthe proposalofanewspecies. Allometricgrowthofantennaljointsshowed, that longestjointIVischaracteristicofyounglarvaeinAradidaeusuallyuntilinstar IV or V ( VÁSÁRHELYI 1985). There seems to be a trend in the species of the OrientalandEastPalaearctic A. orientalis–compar speciesgroup, inthesubgenus Lobataradus Heiss, 2008 proposedforspeciesshowingphylogenetical relationshiptothisspeciesgroup ( HEISS 2008), andalsointherelatedgenus Miraradus (originallydescribedassubgenusof Aradus ) towardsstrongerlateraldevelopmentoflateralbodyportions, andanexpresseddiversificationof antennaljointdevelopment (resultingalsoinlengthofjoints, jointIVbeing remarkablyshortin Lobataradus ). A. oroszi havinglongestjointIV (obviously asecondaryandnotneotaenicfeature) isthereforeanimportantspeciesin understandingevolutionarypatternsinthesetaxa.

Habitat – ThespecimenwasfoundatthemeteorologicalstationofTaiwanForestry ResearchInstitute, whichislocatedonthebottomofadeepandnarrowvalley, surround- edbydeciduousforests. Thecollector, L. Ronkayinformedmethatthespecimenwascol- lectedonafallentrunkof Abieskawakamii (Hayata) T. Itô ( Pinaceae ) ( Fig. 6 View Fig ).

Etymology – ThespeciesisdedicatedtoMr. AndrásOrosz, originallyanelectronic engineer, afriendandstaffmemberoftheHemipteraCollectionoftheHungarianNatural HistoryMuseumsincetheearly 1990s, nowanexcellentscholarofAuchenorrhyncha, to commemoratehis 80thbirthday.
