Records from Norwegian or adjacent waters. Oresund ( Levinsen 1884; Strelzov 1973), Kattegat (Hartmann- Schröder 1996).
Diagnosis. Antenna and secondary ciliary organs absent; accessory ciliary bands present. Three prebranchial segments. Branchiae numbering up to 25 pairs; triangular with abruptly tapering tips. Modified notochaetae forked. Modified neurochaetae as strongly curved hooks bearing subdistal sheath ( Aguirrezabalaga 2012).
Distribution. Atlantic, eastern coast from Oresund ( Strelzov 1973) to southern Iberian Peninsula ( Aguirrezabalaga 2012) and western coast from New England ( Pettibone 1963) to the Gulf of Mexico ( Gaston 1984). Mediterranean ( Laubier & Ramos 1974). Baltic Sea ( Hartmann-Schröder 1996).
