Type Locality: Madagascar, Toliara Prov., vicinity of Maintirano (as amended by F. Petter, 1962 a:571) .

Vernacular Names: Western Nesomys.

Distribution: Documented only from the type locality, WC Madagascar, but certainly more widely distributed in the west.

Discussion: So far known by only three specimens.
