Type host: Picus canus Gmelin ( Piciformes : Picidae ). Type locality: Switzerland.

Host range and distribution. Oligoxenous species associated with the woodpeckers of the genus Picus ( Piciformes : Picidae ): P. canus Gmelin from Switzerland ( Haller 1878) and Poland ( Skoracki 2011), P. awokera Temminck from Japan, P. chlorolophus Vieillot from Nepal, P. erythropygius (Elliot) from Thailand, P. flavinucha Gould from India, P. puniceus Horsfield from Indonesia, P. squamatus Vigors from Nepal ( Skoracki et al. 2014), and P. v i r i d i s Linnaeus from Poland ( Skoracki 2011).
