Type Locality: Liberia.

Vernacular Names: Diana Monkey.

Synonyms: Cercopithecus faunus ( Linnaeus 1766) ; Cercopithecus ignita Gray 1870 .

Distribution: Sierra Leone to Sassandra River, Côte d’Ivoire.

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: C. diana species group. Type species; see comment under Cercopithecus . Does not include roloway , pace Dandelot (1974:25); see Groves (2001 c:205).
