82.? Syntormon setosum Parent, 1938 (SYMPYCINAE) – new to Croatia

[30] 1♀, 26.IV.2006, ASP.

Habitat. UNKNOWN.

Remarks. MORPHOLOGICALLY THIS SPECIES SEEMS MOST CLOSELY RELATED WITH S. macula OLDENbERG, 1927 ( PARENT 1927). DISTINCT FEATURES OF THE LATTER SPECIES AS THE bLACK SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WING AND THE bLACKENED INSERTION POINTS OF THE DORSOCENTRAL bRISTLES ON THE MESONOTUM ARE HARDLY VISIbLE IN THE CROATIAN FEMALE, WHICH – IN CONTRAST TO THE KEY bY PARENT (1938) – DOES NOT SHOW ENTIRELY DARK TARSI. WE CONCLUDED THAT THIS SPECIMEN DEFINITELY DOES NOT bELONG TO S. macula , AND VERY LIKELY IS S. setosum bUT WE CANNOT bE ENTIRELY SURE. HENCE THE qUESTION MARK.
