Polypedilum (Pentapedilum) tissamaharense View in CoL sp. n.

( Fig. 36)

Type material. Holotype male, SRI LANKA: Tissamaharama , 16.vii.1973, B. Scharf ( ZSM) . Paratype: 1 male, same data as holotype ( ZSM). SRI LANKA: Wilpattu National Park , 26.i.1979, M. Müller ( ZSM) .

Diagnostic characters. Among species with strongly haired wing membrane, uniformly colored abdomen, no spur on foretibial scale, and base of superior volsella without microtrichia and with 2-3 inner setae, only P. (Pe.) tissamaharense and P. (Pe.) daitokeleum have the projection of the superior volsella curved with seta medially. P. (Pe.) daitokeleum , however, has two combs on both mid and hind tibia and the fourth tarsomere of the foreleg longer than the third.

Etymology. Named after the type locality, Tissamaharama.

Comb on midtibia 14–19 µm long, combs on hind tibia 19 µm and 10–12 µm long. Width at apex of foretibia 35–40 µm, of midtibia 36–43 µm, of hind tibia 40– 45 µm. Length and proportions of legs as in Table 44.
