Mangiliella fieldeni Van Aartsen & Fehr View in CoL de-Wal 1978: 102, 104, fig. 4

Materials: 15.09.2005, Yumurtalık (Iskenderun Bay), Levantine Sea, sand, 5 m, 2 spm ( ESFM - GAS/2005-102 View Materials ) ; 20.09.2005, Ovacık (Silifke), Levantine Sea, sand, 5 m, 2 spm + 3 sh ( ESFM - GAS/2005-103 View Materials ) .

Remarks: Shell with a paucispiral protoconch and thick axial ribs on the teleoconch whorls (on the body whorl 9–11 ribs). There is a spiral sculpture consisting of relatively thick cords occurring over the ribs. Posterior sinus deep, labial varix well developed. Mangelia thapsiae [= Mangelia fieldeni ( Van Aartsen & Fehr-de Wal 1978)] can be misidentified as M. paciniana and M. sandrii . The species is different from M. paciniana by its paucispiral protoconch, and from M. sandrii by its spiral sculpture being thicker.

Distribution: Mediterranean Sea ( Van Aartsen & Fehr-de Wal 1978). Turkish Coasts: Levantine Sea ( Buzzurro & Greppi 1996).
