Type:— PERU. Huánuco: Churubamba District, Carpish Montane Montane Forest Regional Conservation Area, Unchog Forest , 2817 m, 07 March 2022, L . Ocupa 003, (holotype: USM) .

Distribution:— Peru, in the department of Huánuco. Restricted only to the type in the department of Huánuco, within the Carpish Montane Forest Regional Conservation Area, inhabiting montane rainforests.

Notes:— Epidendrum unchogense has a vegetative habit that places it undoubtedly in the Soratae subgroup , but the flowers are quite different. It is easily recognized by the sepals 20–23 mm long, the petals trullate, parallel to the column, and the lip narrowly ovate with acute apex.

Conservation Status:— DD. Data deficient.
