Type material of Thomisus magaspangus (examined). Holotype ♁ (coll. No. Da 2010-2), CHINA: Hainan Island, Danzhou, 9–13.VIII.2010, leg. A. T. Barrion et al.

Description and diagnosis. See Barrion et al. (2013) for the original description of the male. The male of T. magaspangus can be distinguished from congeners, particularly T. eminulus Tang & Li, 2010 , by the blunt patellar apophysis, the groove-shaped RTA with the downward ramus sharp, pointing dorsally (vs. RTA pointing ventrally in T. eminulus ; Tang & Li 2010: fig. 51), and the embolic tip with an apophysis (vs. embolus thick and spinous in T. eminulus ; Tang & Li 2010: fig. 51).

Distribution. China (Hainan).
