Type material of Tetragnatha pseudonitens (examined). Holotype juvenile (coll. no. H62), CHINA: Hainan Island, Haikou , 21.IV.2012, leg. A. T. Barrion et al.

Comments. The type specimen of T. pseudonitens is juvenile, which makes further study of the taxonomy of this species impossible. There are 46 species of Tetragnatha Latreille, 1804 currently recorded from China, of which as least five are known from Hainan ( World Spider Catalog 2023), making it impossible to identify a possible synonym. We therefore treat T. pseudonitens as nomen dubium.
