Description of Staphylococcus lugdunensis CAU 1627 View in CoL
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and coccus-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth and light orange-colored after 2-3 days of incubation on NA at 30℃. Esculin hydrolysis is weakly positive and negative reactions are obtained for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, tri-sodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
