Description of Aerococcus urinae CAU 1608 View in CoL
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and coccus-shaped. Colonies are punctiform, convex, smooth and white-colored after 2-3 days of incubation on BHI at 37℃. Esculin hydrolysis is weakly positive and negative reactions are obtained for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatinase and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid.
