Isturgia catalaunaria ( Guenée, 1857b)

COMMON NAME (S): Geometer moth. SYNONYM(S): Aspilates occupata Walker, 1862 ; Tephrina dataria Walker, 1861b ; Tephrina defectaria Walker, 1861b ; Aspilates proxantharia Walker, 1863a ; Panagra cogitata Walker, 1863a ; Semiothisa largificaria M̂schler, 1887; Tephrina ningwuana Wehrli, 1940 .

IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).

DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia,

Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, South

Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Choma in Southern Province; Petauke and Mid Luangwa Valley in Eastern Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): One Fabaceae species, Rhynchosia totta (Thunb.) DC. , and another one yet to be identified, Indigofera sp. ,

are host plants of the taxon in South Africa (Kŗger 2001). In addition to this, the African Moths (2019)

webpage reports two Fabaceae species, Indigofera daleoides Harv. and Delonix regia (Hook.) Raf. and one yet to be identified, Leguminosae species, Caesalpinia sp. as larval foodplants of the taxon. No specific plants have been reported as host plants or larval foodplants for the taxon for Zambia.
