Type locality: freshwater pond at Nagpur , Mahārāshtra, India (21º10’ N, 79º12’ E) GoogleMaps . Types — NHM, catalog number not known .
In Venezuela: at the following localities according to Broodbakker (1984a): FALCÓN State, S 1978/?, no locality details (GN 11°00’00” N, 69°50’00” W). GoogleMaps NUEVA ESPARTA State — Margarita Island , no locality details (GN 10°59’13” N, 63°56’08” W) GoogleMaps .
Remarks: this species has a cosmopolitan distribution ( Meisch et al. 2019). It has been recorded from Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, The Bahamas (Eleuthera), Venezuela ( Broodbakker 1984a), Brazil ( Martens & Behen 1994), and Guatemala ( Pérez et al. 2010).
