Type locality: Rohr 14005A (Loc. 1), Todd Road, north basin, Trinidad (GN 10°28’52” N, 61°20’00” W). Holotype, right valve (♀)—USNM, 684068. GoogleMaps
In Venezuela: at the following locality according to Bold (1964): ARAGUA and CARABOBO States—no location details, Lago de Valencia (GN 10º10’46” N, 67º43’52” W) GoogleMaps .
Remarks: this species is widely distributed throughout the Americas ( Meisch et al. 2019). The geographical distribution of C. salebrosa includes Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela ( Martens et al. 1998; Martens & Behen 1994), Dominican Republic, Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad, Tobago, and the United States (Kansas, Central Missouri, and Florida) ( Meyer et al. 2017). The record for Venezuela comes from material recovered from recent sediments ( Bold 1964). No record of C. salebrosa hartmanni ( Ramirez 1967) Ornellas & W̧rdig 1983, as considered from Martens & Behen (1994), is known for Venezuela.
