Remarks. Two examined specimens from MEFLG are very similar to C. trinotatus ( Stål, 1867) but overall paler. Additional observations were identified in iNaturalist. These specimens are all from areas nearby Medellín, Antioquia. We do not have enough specimens and males at this moment to carefully study them. These specimens differ from C. trinotatus mainly by the lack of the three main spots on the posterior pronotal lobe ( Maldonado 1976), but there are apparently additional color characters that could indicate that these might be different. Until more specimens become available for study, no conclusion regarding its taxonomic status can be made. We are listing them to highlight the need to collect additional specimens before a taxonomic conclusion is reached.
