Lectotype M: Bas Obispo , Canal Zone, Panama ( NMNH).

Distribution in South America: Colombia, Venezuela. Type locality: Bas Obispo, Canal Zone, Panama.

Bibliographic sources: Known life stages, and several taxonomic and geographical references in Pecor et al. (1992). This species was included in the Revision of the Spissipes Section by Forattini & Sallum (1996) with notes on bionomics. Geographical records in Sutil (1980).
