Current name: Piper aduncum L. ( Piperaceae ).

Note: Tebbs (in Bull. Nat. Hist. Mus. London, Bot. 23: 19. 1993) indicated Houstoun material (presumably in Herb. Sloane, BM) as “?lectotype” but this was not seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
