Vernacular Names: Golden-rumped Elephant Shrew.

Distribution: E Kenya.

Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: Kingdon (1974 a:41) considered chrysopygus as a subspecies of cirnei . See Rathbun (1979, Mammalian Species, 117).
