Jeannel, 1936: 153 (as synonym of D. monilis Murray [1856] View in CoL , not stated as taxonomic change; consequently assigned to group ovalis); Szymczakowski, 1961: 154 (holotype seen; resurrected from synonymy, and described and illustrated the male), 1963: 677, 1968: 21 (redescription of male genitalia); Gnaspini, 1991a: 331; Salgado, 2010b: 162 (assignment to group).
Syntypes (2 females, [probably] in Grouvelle collection, in original description), in MNHN [in Jeannel, 1936 and Szymczakowski, 1961, who cited they examined a holotype male].
Type locality: “ Espírito Santo ” [State], Brazil.
Distribution: Brazil: Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo States.
= D. dubius Pic, 1917: 3 View in CoL ; Jeannel, 1936: 153 syn. (of D. monilis Murray [1856] View in CoL , not stated as taxonomic change); syn. moved to D. maculatus View in CoL by Szymczakowski, 1961: 154 (type seen).? Syntype (s) (sex and number of specimens not given, in Pic collection, in original description) in MNHN [in Jeannel, 1936]. Type locality: “ Brésil ”.
