Type host. Isoodon macrourus (Marsupialia: Peramelidae ).

Distribution and hosts. Cercopithifilaria pearsoni is known only from the original description from the northern brown bandicoot, Isoodon macrourus , from Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, despite the broad geographic distribution of this host in the Territory and eastern Queensland.

Remarks. This species is distinguished from its only congener, C. johnstoni , by the long left spicule with long, stouter filament; long, stout, moderately sclerotised right spicule with angulate, complex, distal extremity and microfilaria with a filamentous, non-forked tail.
