REMARKS. These are the New World cicadas with ampliated lateral pronotal margins, hyaline fore wings and hind wings that are more or less spotted and possess a timbal cover that partially or entirely exposes the timbal. The distinguishing characteristics of the tribe are a combination of hind coxae with a large inner protuberance, timbal covers reduced dorsally or recurved on the posterior timbal cavity margin, usually bifurcate basal pygofer lobe, uncus lacking a dorsal crest, and ventral apophyses restraining the aedeagus ( Marshall et al. 2018). The genera were recently assigned to one of two subtribes with the synonymy of the Dazini and the shape and size of the timbal covers ( Sanborn 2018a).
