REMARKS. The final Peruvian Fidicinoides species with infuscation along the ambient veins of the fore wings and hind wings. The infuscation is found on all crossveins and veins between apical cells in the fore wings in F. pseudethelae as it is in F. descampsi , F. duckensis and F. poulaini . The infuscation is very dense in this species. It can be distinguished from F. brunnea by the more robust body, the piceous marking in the pronotal ambient fissure, and the infuscation is continuous through the fore wing crossveins and proximal marginal veins. It can be distinguished from F. descampsi by the piceous marking in the pronotal ambient fissure, the male timbal cover not bending mediad at the apex, the triangular opercula, the short apical spine in the fore femur, and the uncal crest that is about twice as wide as the lateral uncus lobe. It can be distinguished from F. duckensis by the piceous marking in the pronotal ambient fissure, the male timbal cover not bending mediad at the apex, the triangular opercula, the primary spine on the fore femur is elevated above the femur, and the uncal crest is longer and wider than the lateral uncus lobes. It can be distinguished from F. poulaini by the piceous marking in the pronotal ambient fissure, the male timbal cover not bending mediad at the apex, the meracanthus reaching half way to the posterior opercular margin, the primary spine in the fore femur is elevated above the femur, and the uncal crest is longer and about twice as wide as the lateral uncus lobes. It was named for its similarity to Fidicina ethelae but can be distinguished by the differing generic characteristics ( Boulard & Martinelli 1996).

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Brazil, French Guiana, and Venezuela ( Sanborn 2013).
