One syntype is deposited in NMPC (ex coll. Nickerl).

Pragense [p] // TYPUS [p, red label, black margin] // major Kuw. / syntype / revised [hw] / S. Boucher det. [p] 13 [hw]’.
Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Gonatas schellongi Kuwert, 1891 , see e.g. HINCKS & DIBB (1935).
Remark. This specimen belongs to the same species as the one in Kuwert’s collection in MNHN, also from Aru Isl. Its total length corresponds to the original description. All the specimens identified by Kuwert seem to come from the same series.
