GENUS ANGOLOSITUS KOCH, 1954 , SENS. NOV.

= Aberlencus Iwan, 2002c , syn. nov. Type species: Aberlencus angolensis Iwan, 2002c ; by original designation.

= Platymedvedevia Iwan & Banaszkiewicz, 2007 syn. nov. Type species: Platymedvedevia demeyeri Iwan & Banaszkiewicz, 2007 ; by original designation.

Type species: Angolositus sadabandeirus Koch, 1954 ; by original designation.

Diagnostic characters: Angolositus sens. nov. is similar to Gyptopteryx sens. nov. and Phymatoplata in having deep, visible longitudinal grooves of anterior tentorial pits (character 0:2) and parallel basal halves of the elytral sides (character 14:1).

Angolositus sens. nov. is distinguished from all other Afrotropical platynotoid Platynotina by having a median indentation on the apical part of the mentum (character 1:1). Additionally, the representatives of this genus may be characterized by strongly constricted epistomal canthus eyes (in some cases completely divided).

Distribution: Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zanzibar.
