Type Locality: Fiji Isls, Taveuni Isl, Des Voeux Peak, ca. 3,840 ft. (1,170 m).

Vernacular Names: Fijian Monkey-faced Fruit Bat.

Distribution: Taveuni Isl ( Fiji Isls).

Conservation: IUCN / SSC Action Plan (1992) – Endangered: Limited Distribution. IUCN 2003 – Critically Endangered.
