Genus Lemuriana Distant, 1905 View in CoL

Lemuriana Distant, 1905b: 32 View in CoL . Type species: Cicada apicalis Germar, 1830 .

Remarks. The genus Lemuriana currently consists of four species including the new species described below: L. apicalis (Germar) , L. cambodiana sp. nov., L. chandaea Moulton , and L. connexa Distant. There has been some confusion between Lemuriana (type species: L. apicalis from India) and Abroma Stål, 1866 ( Stål 1866a) (type species: Cicada guerinii Signoret, 1860 from Madagascar), and more comparative study is needed to clarify the definitions of the two genera. A key to the four species of Lemuriana is provided here.
