Holotype: ZUMT [orig. no.356], Formosa.
Remark. The holotype is apparently lost (Kazuo Sakamoto, pers. comm., 24 Oct. 2007). Parenti and Randall (2000) mentioned it is questionably a synonym of Choerodon schoenleinii .
