Type Locality: Greece, Nomos Evritanias, near the village of Kleistos, over Fournikos Patomos stream, 39°05'N, 21°49'E. GoogleMaps
Vernacular Names: Alcathoe Myotis.
Distribution: Greece, Hungary, France. Specimens from Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine previsously reported as ikonnikovi might represent alcathoe (von Helveren et al., 2001) .
Conservation: IUCN 2003 – Not evaluated (new species); not considered in IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001).
