Basionym:— Hygrobiella nishimurae N.Kitag., Misc. Bryol. Licheno l. 9: 69, 1982 ( Kitagawa 1982).

Type:— JAPAN. Kyushu: Oita, Sasano , Kamituemura , Hita-gun , 600 m, Nishimura 8459 (holotype KYO, isotypes HIRO, NICH, TNS) .
