Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Hunan: male (IZCAS), Daling Village [大岭村], Hupingshan Town [壶瓶山 镇], Shimen County [石门县], 444 m, 19.X.2014, Hong-Bin Liang leg. Paratype: CHINA: Hunan: 1 male ( SWU, in 100% alcohol), a roadside near Nanping [南坪], Mt. Hupingshan [壶瓶山], Shimen County, 350 m, 21.V.2016, Hao Xu leg., reared by Lu Qiu from the nymph .

Other material examined: 2 nymphs (SWU, in 100% alcohol), same data as for the paratype.

Diagnosis. See under E. hanae sp. nov.

Description. Male. General: measurements (mm): body length: 21.2–23.2, overall length: 32.8–34.4, pronotum length×width: 5.5–5.6×9.4–9.8, tegmen length: 29.0–29.6. Large, broad, brown in dorsal view, brownish black in ventral view, tegmina densely maculated ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A–B). Head: round, black. Interocular space narrow, ocelli ridge roundly curved. Frons flat, wrinkled, lateral with two yellowish spots next to the antennal sockets. Antennae blackish brown. Clypeus small, not protruded; ante-clypeus white, post-clypeus completely black, lateral borders with two light colored spots. Labrum dark brown, hind margin emarginated, white. Maxillary palpi and labial palpi dark brown, with joint parts white (Fig. 13 K–L). Pronotum: unicolored, brown, apex slightly whitish. Surface generally covered with small yellowish pubescence, lateral fore borders with additional long brown setae. Apex truncated, slightly concave, lateral fore margins oblique roundly, lateral parts bluntly rounded, hind margin slightly rounded (Fig. 13 J). Tegmina and Wings: extended the end of abdomen 10.4–11.7 mm. Tegmina hyaline, brownish yellow, densely covered with brown speckles, the speckles converged, which also isolated the hyaline area into many small maculae. Wings brownish, outer margin dark reddish brown, venation distinct, M and AP areas transparent, anal area hyaline, distal portion of CuA maculated. Legs: slightly pubescent, femurs brownish black, tibiae and tarsi black, arolia white (in fresh moulted specimen), joint parts light colored; tibial spines dark reddish brown. Abdomen: brownish black, smooth, the last two segments slightly yellowish. Supra-anal plate in ventral view, apex strong protruded, median slightly emarginated, anterior margin and paraprocts well pubescent; two median sclerites curved; cerci black, long ( Fig. 20 A View FIGURE 20 ). Subgenital plate asymmetrical, left a little larger than the right, unicolored for the exposed part, hind margin straight, fully setose; styli small but robust, right larger than the left ( Fig. 20 B View FIGURE 20 ). Genitalia: well sclerited. Left phallomere: L1 elongate, anterior part round, with a long process towards left, median necked; L2 roundly curved, right end with two small processes; L3 robust, strongly curved, apex with a large hook; pda long, well developed, paa expanded. Right phallomere: small. R1L thick; R2 simple, median concave ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 C–D).

Female. Unknown.

Nymph. Dark reddish brown, unicolored ( Fig. 39 F View FIGURES 39 ).

Ootheca. Unknown.

Natural History. Three individuals of the species were found along a path at Mt. Hupingshan by Mr. Hao Xu, which were collected from the road side. They hided inside the earth under the leaves, which is loose enough for hiding ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 39 D–F).

Etymology. The species epithet is from the type locality Mt. Hupingshan.
