Discorsotheres camposi Ahyong, 2018 View in CoL
( Fig. 1A, B View FIGURE 1 )
Discorsotheres camposi Ahyong, 2018: 557–559 View in CoL View Cited Treatment , fig. 8, 10 [type locality: SE coast of Vava’u Island, Tonga, 18°41′S, 173°59′W].
Material examined. MNHN IU- 2019-5221, juvenile female (cl 3.8 mm, cw 3.8 mm), Deverd Pass, New Caledonia, 20°45.0867’S, 164°13.9217’E, Koumac 2 KR1018, 40 m, inside Spondylus varius Sowerby, 1827 , coll. H. Johnson et al., 4 November 2019.
Remarks. The present juvenile female of D. camposi exhibits adult diagnostic features of the pereopods and maxilliped 3 ( Ahyong 2018), although the subtle cruciform sculpture of the dorsal surface of the carapace, evident in adults, is not yet developed. Ahyong (2018) recorded D. camposi from an unidentified species of Spondylus (Spondylidae) , and the present record confirms S. varius Sowerby, 1827 as a host. Discorsotheres camposi is already known from Lifou, but the present specimen represents the first record of the genus and species from New Caledonia proper.
Distribution. Tonga, Caroline Islands, Lifou and now from New Caledonia; 9– 40 m.
